You can stop using CipherDrive™ at any time. Before doing so, it is important to understand which action you are taking and what may happen to your encrypted files, subscriptions, account data, and shared content.
Several actions can sound similar but have different effects.
Cancelling a paid plan generally stops future renewal according to the billing terms shown for your subscription. It does not necessarily mean that your Ackaia ID is deleted immediately.
Depending on the plan and current product rules, cancellation, downgrade, suspension, or non-payment may limit your ability to upload, download, share, or access content.
You can stop using CipherDrive without necessarily deleting your shared Ackaia identity. Ackaia ID is used across participating Ackaia services, so removing product access and deleting the ecosystem identity are not automatically the same action.
Where account-deletion controls are available, closing an Account may end access to the affected service and begin applicable deletion and retention processes.
Because Ackaia ID can be used by more than one Ackaia service, carefully review the description and warnings shown in the account interface before confirming any deletion. An action that deletes the entire Ackaia ID may affect more than CipherDrive.
Complete this checklist first:
Download or export files you want to keep.
Confirm that exported files can actually be opened. CipherDrive may need your local cryptographic material to produce readable files.
Back up critical files independently.
Review active public links and sharing.
Review your paid subscription and renewal date.
Consider independent copies already saved by recipients. Those copies may remain in another user's storage even after your source object is deleted.
Do not erase your local keys until you have completed any required export.
Important: Ackaia may not be able to export decrypted file contents on your behalf if the cryptographic keys needed to decrypt them are no longer available to your client.
Use the account, subscription, or service controls currently available in CipherDrive or Ackaia ID for the action you want to perform.
The exact interface can change over time. Read the confirmation screen carefully to verify whether you are:
cancelling a subscription;
downgrading a plan;
removing product access;
deleting CipherDrive data;
or deleting the broader Ackaia ID account.

Not necessarily.
Deletion may take time across active storage, trash, backups, disaster-recovery systems, logs, and other operational systems. Ackaia may also retain limited records where necessary or permitted for purposes such as:
billing, accounting, or tax obligations;
security and fraud prevention;
abuse prevention and child safety;
dispute resolution;
legal compliance and evidence preservation;
trust and safety investigations;
enforcement and auditability.
Retention of operational records does not necessarily mean that the associated encrypted file blob remains active or that Ackaia can decrypt stored file contents.
Deleting your source object or account does not guarantee deletion of content that another person already:
downloaded;
saved to their own device;
copied or redistributed;
screenshotted or cached;
saved as an independent encrypted copy in their own CipherDrive storage.
Independent saved copies are operationally separate from the original source object and may remain after the source object is deleted or its Public Link is revoked.
Whether your Ackaia ID remains available depends on the action you choose. Cancelling a CipherDrive subscription or stopping use of the product does not automatically mean that the entire shared identity must be deleted.
If you intend to delete your Ackaia ID itself, review how that action affects any other Ackaia services connected to the same identity before confirming it.
Do not assume that deletion, closure, or termination is reversible.
Even if some operational records remain for a retention period, that does not mean Ackaia can restore your product state, recover deleted objects, or recreate lost cryptographic keys. Export anything important before confirming closure.
