Ackaia does not intend to sell encrypted CipherDrive™ file contents or use those encrypted file contents for cross-context behavioral advertising.
CipherDrive's Privacy Policy states that Ackaia does not intend to:
use encrypted stored file contents for advertising;
sell encrypted file contents;
train advertising models on encrypted file contents;
use encrypted stored file contents for behavioral profiling.
The Ackaia General Privacy Policy also states that Ackaia does not sell personal information for money and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Ackaia may process limited operational and technical information to run, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve its services.
This can include information such as:
pages or features used;
performance and error telemetry;
service reliability information;
quota and transfer records;
device and browser information;
security and fraud-prevention signals.
This is different from using the contents of your encrypted files to build an advertising profile.
CipherDrive may use cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, or similar technologies for operational purposes such as authentication, security, preferences, local cryptographic state, performance, and guest transfer accounting.
Guest identifiers used to enforce transfer limits are intended for service operation, not cross-site advertising or commercial behavioral profiling.
Yes. Some privacy laws use specialized definitions of “sale” or “sharing” that can include certain advertising, analytics, or tracking practices even when no money changes hands.
If Ackaia introduces a practice that legally qualifies as a sale or sharing, its policies state that Ackaia will provide required notices and choices where applicable.
Yes. Using vendors to host infrastructure, process payments, deliver email, provide support, operate security systems, or perform other defined services is different from selling data for advertising.
Service providers are intended to process information only for the defined purposes necessary to provide services to Ackaia and subject to applicable contractual, legal, or technical safeguards.
