If you used Ackaia's encrypted storage before the CipherDrive™ name was introduced, you may still see references to Ackaia One or Ackaia One Storage in older articles, screenshots, links, or search results.
The storage product was not discontinued. Ackaia changed the product structure so that the drive, subscription, and identity layers each have a clearer role.
Ackaia One originally started as the name for a private suite of applications. The first application in that vision was Ackaia One Storage, Ackaia's encrypted, zero-knowledge file drive.
In May 2026, Ackaia announced a new product structure. The encrypted storage application became a dedicated product with its own name:
Ackaia One Storage → CipherDrive™
CipherDrive is now the name of the product you use for encrypted file storage, files and folders, sharing, previews where supported, and the storage-specific security model.
Ackaia One did not disappear. Its role changed.
Going forward, Ackaia One is the subscription and entitlement layer for Ackaia consumer products. It can represent your plan, billing relationship, storage entitlement, transfer capacity, and future bundled benefits across products.
That means:
CipherDrive is the drive you use;
Ackaia One is the subscription that can give you access and plan benefits;
Ackaia ID remains the identity and authentication layer.
The most visible changes are the product name and the structure around it. Ackaia has been updating product pages, legal documents, support references, security documentation, and interface language to use the CipherDrive identity.
The product restructuring gives CipherDrive its own:
product identity;
interface and roadmap;
security model;
legal documents;
support and trust documentation.
The move to CipherDrive was not an announcement that Ackaia was abandoning encrypted storage. CipherDrive continues the encrypted-drive direction built under One Storage: client-side encryption, zero-knowledge storage boundaries, private file handling, documented metadata, and explicit safety limitations.
Your Ackaia ID also remains the identity layer used to authenticate across the ecosystem.
Some historical material was published before the product restructure. Older Journal articles, screenshots, cached pages, external references, or search-engine results can therefore still use the previous name.
The CipherDrive Security & Encryption Whitepaper and Terms of Service both include revision-history entries documenting the update from Ackaia One / Ackaia One Storage to Ackaia CipherDrive.
When current CipherDrive documentation conflicts with an older One Storage reference, use the current CipherDrive product documentation and legal repository as the authoritative source.
No separate “CipherDrive identity” replaced Ackaia ID. Ackaia ID remains the account and authentication layer for CipherDrive and other participating Ackaia services.
Your ability to use CipherDrive can also depend on your current Ackaia One entitlement, plan status, region, or other account requirements.
CipherDrive is the drive.
Ackaia One is the subscription.
Ackaia ID is the identity layer.
Ackaia Corp. is the company building the ecosystem.
