CipherDrive™ can apply several different types of usage limits. A storage limit and a transfer limit are not the same thing.
Your storage allowance controls how much encrypted data your account can keep in CipherDrive.
Ackaia's public site currently advertises 5 GB of storage on the free tier. Paid plans may provide different allowances.
Your current account interface is the authoritative source for your active storage entitlement.
Transfer usage measures data moved through the service, such as uploads, downloads, previews, or Public Link traffic where applicable.
You can therefore have free storage space remaining and still encounter a transfer-related limit.
CipherDrive may apply a maximum file size or operation-specific limit depending on:
plan;
client;
browser;
region;
feature;
service configuration.
This KB intentionally does not publish a universal numeric maximum because the public terms allow plan and service limits to vary.
Ackaia may limit how quickly or how frequently operations are performed to protect reliability and security.
Rate controls may apply to:
uploads;
downloads;
Public Links;
API or automated operations;
account actions;
other high-volume requests.
A numeric quota is not the only possible control. Ackaia's General Terms permit proportionate restrictions when usage creates abnormal load, material security risk, abuse risk, or harm to other users, even when a stated numeric limit has not yet been exceeded.
To enforce plans and quotas, Ackaia must know operational information such as:
encrypted storage size;
uploaded and downloaded bytes;
transfer sessions;
quota counters;
plan and billing state;
limit-exceeded events.
This is operational metadata and does not require Ackaia to decrypt the stored file contents.
No. The General Terms prohibit using multiple accounts, request manipulation, abusive automation, or other evasive methods to circumvent service limits.
Use the current storage, usage, billing, or plan information displayed by CipherDrive and Ackaia One.
Always treat live account usage as authoritative for quotas; plan limits can change independently of this article.
