Clearing browser data can affect CipherDrive™ more than a typical website because the browser may store both account session state and local cryptographic state.
Depending on what you cleared, the browser may remove:
authentication cookies;
session state;
local storage;
IndexedDB data;
remembered preferences;
wrapped key material;
local browser keys;
remembered vault unlock state.
If authentication cookies or session state were removed, sign in again through Ackaia ID.
This restores account authentication, but it does not necessarily restore missing vault key material.
CipherDrive may have previously relied on local key state stored in that browser profile.
If that state was cleared, the client may require your valid vault secret, recovery mechanism, device enrollment, or other supported unlock path before it can decrypt your files again.
Usually, clearing local browser data does not itself delete the encrypted CipherDrive objects stored by Ackaia.
However, the ciphertext can remain stored while becoming inaccessible to that browser if the last valid key path was removed.
Sign in again with the correct Ackaia ID.
Use the current vault-unlock or recovery flow.
Check whether another trusted device still has working vault access.
If another device works, preserve it and back up important files.
Do not repeatedly clear data on every remaining trusted device.
If no recovery credential, vault secret, device key, or other valid cryptographic path remains, Ackaia may be unable to reconstruct the lost key material.
This is a consequence of the zero-knowledge model: the server is not intended to hold a hidden plaintext master key that support can simply restore.
Understand which browser profile contains your trusted CipherDrive state.
Protect any recovery information separately.
Maintain an independent backup of important files.
Before clearing site data, confirm that you have another valid unlock method.
Do not use browser “cleanup” tools indiscriminately on your only trusted device.
Clearing browser data can remove access to keys without deleting the encrypted file itself.
