How to Enable or Disable MFA on Your Ackaia ID

Multifactor authentication (MFA) adds an additional verification step to your Ackaia ID and helps protect the account if your password is exposed or stolen.

You can manage MFA from the Ackaia ID Security page.

Enable MFA

  1. Sign in to your Ackaia ID.

  2. Open https://id.ackaia.com/account/security.

  3. Scroll down to the Two-step verification section.

  4. Select the option to enable MFA.

  5. Follow the setup steps shown by Ackaia ID.

  6. Complete the verification requested by the setup flow.

  7. Confirm that the Security page shows MFA as enabled before leaving the page.

Once MFA is enabled, Ackaia ID can require the additional verification step when authenticating your account as applicable to the sign-in flow.

Keep your MFA method secure

Disable MFA

  1. Sign in to your Ackaia ID.

  2. Open https://id.ackaia.com/account/security.

  3. Scroll to Two-step verification.

  4. Click Disable MFA.

  5. Enter your Ackaia ID account password when prompted.

  6. Enter your current MFA verification code.

  7. Confirm the request.

After the password and current MFA code are successfully verified, MFA is disabled for the account.

We strongly recommend keeping MFA enabled. Disabling MFA removes an important layer of protection from your Ackaia ID. A password alone provides less protection against phishing, password reuse, credential theft, and other account-takeover attempts. Only disable MFA when you have a specific reason to do so, and re-enable it as soon as practical if the change is temporary.

If you cannot provide the current MFA code

The normal disable flow requires both your account password and the current MFA code.

If you no longer have access to the verification method needed to generate the code, use the account recovery or support options made available by Ackaia ID for your situation.

Ackaia may require additional verification before changing or removing a security control from an account.

If you did not disable MFA

  1. Secure your Ackaia ID immediately.

  2. Change your account password.

  3. Re-enable MFA.

  4. Review connected applications and account sessions where available.

  5. Contact Ackaia Support if you suspect unauthorized account access.

Ackaia Support will never need your current MFA code, password, or recovery secret in a normal support message.
